About Newline Design founder, Jon Mikulic
With a design legacy spanning almost 30 years, Jon Mikulic has grown Newline Design to become one of Melbourne’s most respected design practices.
A modernist at heart, it was Jon’s immediate connection to simple yet beautiful aesthetics and his keen eye for fine detail that drew him to a career in the design industry.
Commencing his career working for his family’s construction business in the early 1980s, Jon combined his understanding of the built form and passion for design to establish Newline Design in 1986.
Jon enjoys the collaborative process with the owner, operator, designer and builder, working on a multitude of residential projects with an enviable list of hospitality spaces including The Emerson, Duke of Wellington, The Boathouse, 400 Gradi, Charlie Dumpling and its little brother, Bā Charlie.
Jon continues to build his impressive portfolio designing a range of projects both locally and internationally including the new WOY WOY boutique hotel in St Kilda, the Croatian Catholic Church of Leopold Mandic and his own handcrafted furniture range to be launched soon.
